About the Role
The Project Controls Technician will perform project control functions on multiple small and large, fast-moving engineering, design, and custom process equipment manufacturing projects across all ABEC sites. This role supports all aspects of project control and reporting, including project setup and maintenance, change management, progress measurement, cost tracking, metrics tracking, and project management support. This is a full-time onsite position located at our Bethlehem, PA facility.
Responsibilities
- Develop and update schedules using MS Project to conform to project requirements and progress.
- Participate in kick-off meetings with necessary personnel to ensure a common understanding of budgets, schedule, progress measurement, and change management requirements.
- Support Project Management with ERP budget and forecast updates after customer-approved changes.
- Support Project Management with material and labor tracking and forecasting.
- Coordinate and compile input from team members to develop project status reporting.
- Support Project Management and senior staff to report on project status and material and labor budget performance.
- Support Finance with project cost reporting and maintenance.
- Manage tracking and reporting of key project performance metrics.
- Track and assist with coordination of project invoicing.
- Monitor and report performance and progress through analytical techniques to validate cost and performance.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project control policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Project Management.
- Play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities.
- Execute other tasks as assigned.
- Ability to travel when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or Business Administration with relevant experience preferred.
- Experience in project planning, project management, and cost/schedule control of projects with a high degree of complexity preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills a must.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
- Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus; prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems (particularly Syteline) desired.
- Experience in the biopharmaceutical industry helpful.
