Responsibilities

  • Aid the project manager in developing project scope of work for required Project Controls tasks.
  • Study and understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation of schedules.
  • Work with all relevant project and discipline personnel to prepare schedules.
  • Convert the scope of work document into a logically linked, resourced project schedule.
  • Prepare realistic, achievable schedules using logical networks and where necessary integrate engineering, procurement, and construction schedules with an emphasis on the engineering and procurement pieces.
  • Maintain progress against project schedule and prepare progress reports.
  • Collect expended man-hours and prepare Earned Value reports and analysis.
  • Prepare, review, and ensure the timely issue of all relevant reports to stakeholders.
  • Provide realistic resource forecast data at a project and corporate level and provide input into the budget forecasting process.
  • Support the cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the schedules.
  • Analyze progress and effects on schedule and advise necessary corrective action.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma with previous experience in engineering with Oil & Gas and Power industry.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in project controls.
  • Experience developing and maintaining engineering schedules.
  • Problem-solving skills, capable of resolving complex situations with appropriate management.
  • Some knowledge of project management software, specifically Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
  • An understanding of the basic principles of project management.
  • A high degree of computer literacy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
  • A dependable individual who meets deadlines, works independently, is accountable for work, maintains focus, is punctual, and has a good attendance record.
