About the role
The Project Controls & Forecasting Analyst supports the successful planning, execution, and financial performance of transmission projects. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining project budgets, forecasts, schedules, cost reports, and performance metrics to ensure accurate project controls and informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with project managers to develop and refine project estimates at completion (EAC).
- Develops and maintains detailed cash flow projections and provides monthly and annual forecasts to Finance.
- Reviews/validates major construction contracts, contractor deliverables, and milestone/progress payment schedules.
- Oversees financial transactions, PO commitments, and cost expenditures to ensure cost control across large construction projects.
- Develops, validates, and reports annual cost variances to Finance.
- Tracks and reports the status of project contingency funds minimizing the risk of cost overruns.
- Supports project managers by maintaining the project risk register and setting regular review meetings.
- Develops and maintains project schedules, ensuring timely execution of tasks.
- Performs strategic cost and schedule analysis for capital budget planning and integrated resource plan filings.
- Supports project managers in preparing executive-level reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Assists procurement manager with purchase requisitions and ensures accurate account coding.
- Reviews vendor invoices, purchase orders, and subcontractor expenses. (Prepares Invoice Receipts/PM validates the expenditure)
- Initiates cost transfers and journal entries to ensure proper cost allocation.
- Monitors milestones, deliverables, and dependencies to support timely project completion.
- Documents and maintains a log of all project change orders.
- Reviews cost change orders and analyzes the impact to the project forecast.
