About the role

As a Project Controls Professional in Industrial, Power and Waste, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing capital cost estimates, construction cost estimates, and/or service estimates for various market sectors. Your work will involve forming crews from multiple disciplines, conducting quantity takeoffs, and analyzing data. You will also manage a cost estimate database, prepare basis and assumptions documentation, and perform other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review capital cost estimates, construction cost estimates, and/or service estimates for a variety of different market sectors including Waste, Power and Industrial.
  • Form crews from multiple disciplines and conduct quantity takeoffs and estimates from design drawings.
  • Data gathering and analysis, cost estimate database management, preparing basis and assumptions documentation, and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certifications (one or more): AEP, CPE, CCT, CEP, PSP, EVP, PMI-SP, PMP, CCM, PRMP, EIT, PE
    • Knowledge and proficiency of estimating software (e.g., Sage, Assemble, RS Means)
    • Knowledge of project scheduling, including use of Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6
    • A good understanding of electrical equipment and materials and knowledge in electrical construction methodologies
    • The ability to develop and interpret construction schedules
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Science Engineering or equivalent experience
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in producing estimates in a competitive environment and assessing cost risks based on contract terms and conditions relative to a cost estimate
    • Knowledge of EPC estimating methods, processes, and procedures, in addition to the estimate types, classifications, and components
    • Experience with Lump Sum Design Build estimates and understanding detail level estimates and design packages
    • Knowledge of market pricing and pricing sources in the area of specialization
    • Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structures necessary for cost management
    • Proficiency with Primavera and Timberline

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of electrical equipment and materials and be knowledgeable in electrical construction methodologies.
  • The ability to develop and interpret construction schedules.
