Key Responsibilities
- Support equipment installation, setup, debugging, and startup through turnover to operations.
- Learn and understand process and equipment functions, including I/O requirements, control logic, fail-safe states, and recovery sequences.
- Coincide with system integrators and machine builders to deliver integrated equipment systems on time and within project goals.
- Aid in the development and modification of industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Partner with Technology Development, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations teams to improve equipment designs and reduce cost.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Controls Engineering or a related field.
- 2–7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using PLC and PC based systems, Beckhoff PLC / Motion Control, B&R PLC Control, Automated equipment systems experience.
- Experience working on a manufacturing floor or construction site with a strong focus on safety.
- Knowledge of power systems up to 480VAC.
- Ability to work hands-on with tools, instruments, and measurement/alignment devices.
- Ability to interpret engineering requirements and support equipment design and schematics.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Windows, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with PLC and PC-based systems, including Beckhoff or B&R controls.
- Experience with automated equipment systems, SCADA/HMI, PID control, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills.
- Optical fiber manufacturing experience is a plus.
