Centrisys/CNP is an established leader in the centrifuge manufacturing industry. We are a client-focused, team-driven, and fast-growing enterprise with great opportunities for advancement. We are seeking a Project Controls Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Perform machine function testing to ensure control panel components, field devices, and wiring perform per design and meet UL508A, UL698A, and NEC requirements.
- Develop, modify, and optimize PLC, HMI, and VFD programs to support industrial and process equipment operation.
- Integrate control system hardware and software (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, safety devices, relays, etc.) into new builds and retrofit machinery builds.
- Handle electrical wiring, terminations, and labeling.
- Troubleshoot electrical circuits, control systems, and drives during machine checkout, startup, and field service (480/120/24V).
- Provide remote technical support for electrical and control system troubleshooting via phone, email, and remote connections.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including electrical drawings, controller tag lists, process narratives, and controls operational documents.
- Perform drawing updates in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering preferred.
- 2–3 years of related hands-on day-to-day experience in electrical controls, automation, or industrial equipment required; 3–5 years preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical control systems (480/120/24V), PLCs, HMIs, and industrial/process automation.
- Skilled in interpreting electrical schematics, controls logic, P&ID diagrams, and technical specification documentation.
- Working knowledge of UL and NEC standards, and familiarity with industrial network protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus) is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record; pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
Travel required as needed.
