As a Cost Specialist at QISG, you will be a key member of the Project Controls team, responsible for monitoring project financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. You'll develop and maintain budgets, track actual costs, perform variance analysis, prepare forecasts, and provide leadership with accurate reporting to support strategic decision-making. Your work will directly contribute to the successful execution of large-scale utility, power generation, and renewable energy EPC projects across North America.
Responsibilities
- Track, analyze, and control project costs for EPC energy and utility infrastructure projects, including transmission, substations, renewables, and utility construction work
- Maintain and analyze budget vs. actuals, forecasts, and cost trends across multi-year projects
- Develop and update Estimates at Completion (EAC) and Estimates to Complete (ETC)
- Monitor cost deviations, trends, and risks, escalating potential issues early to project leadership
- Support change management, including change orders, budget transfers, and cost impacts
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations Directors, and technical teams to align financial performance with execution plans
- Prepare clear, accurate cost reports, dashboards, and forecasts for internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Serve as a trusted cost resource for assigned projects, contributing to continuous improvement in cost control practices
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in project cost control, job costing, or project controls within:
EPC
Construction
Utilities
Energy or infrastructure projects - Hands-on experience with:
Cost forecasting
Budget control
Change management
Cost trend and risk analysis - Experience working in a project-based environment (not manufacturing or corporate accounting)
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced level)
- Experience with JDE and/or EcoSys; Procore experience preferred
- Ability to translate complex cost data into clear, actionable insights
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or equivalent practical experience
- Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically

Pay
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $73,600.00/Yr. - USD $140,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
