About the Role

As a Project Controls Analyst at United Utility Services, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of diverse and transformative projects. Working within the Project Management Office, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide schedule and cost controls, data capture and analytics, process improvement, and tools development throughout the project life cycle. Your work will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, directly contributing to the growth and success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Project team and Accounting to drive monthly close, ensuring cost and revenue accruals and adjustments are prepared and processed in a timely manner per established policies.
  • Extract actuals data against forecast, budget, or guidance to complete variance analysis for relevant time periods.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to develop Estimate at Completion (EAC) templates and forecasts.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities as part of recurring forecast analysis and communicate them to stakeholders.
  • Support process improvement initiatives in financial systems, project financial control and reporting, and financial dashboarding.
  • Perform analytical review and arithmetic checks of cost reporting documentation.
  • Prepare accurate and complete variance analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare and support Internal Project Review presentations for management.
  • Monitor costs and manpower weekly to ensure actuals are within budget and charged to the correct job number.
  • Assist with the preparation, processing, and tracking of contract Change Orders.
  • Proactively lead the weekly/monthly Project Status Report (PSR) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure invoices are billed in accordance with contract requirements and reconcile billings, addressing open issues immediately.
  • Process cost transfers as required.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to investigating underlying details of reported information to understand project-related risks and issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to diagnose and solve problems within limited time frames.
  • Strong capability to maintain constructive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Efficient at data capture and analysis using various enterprise systems.
  • Proficiency in Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Bachelor of Science in Project or Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with relevant technical systems.
  • 2+ years of project scheduling experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of project cost controls experience.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or Earned Value Professional (EVP) designation.
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods; talk or hear; and perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills for keyboard, telephone, or writing use. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $72,800. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
