About the Role

As a trusted financial resource for construction projects, you will serve as the primary liaison between operations and corporate finance. This highly visible and fast-paced position handles financial reporting, compliance, and processing for projects ranging from $1 million to $100 million in contract value.

You will report directly to the Project Manager/Project Executive with input from the lead Project Controls Manager in the region, collaborating closely with your project team and trade partners.

Responsibilities

  • Compile owner requisitions and resolve internal audit findings.
  • Process subcontractor requisitions and accounts payable, monitor consumable materials purchasing, and track equipment inventory.
  • Manage field payroll and assist with project setup, closeout, and owner contract review and readiness.
  • Track and report on small business participation.
  • Support monthly project financial forecasts and analyze monthly cost reports.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and project cash flow, including forecasting.
  • Contribute to contract administration, change orders, procurement, schedule, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of company contracts and all involved parties.
  • Facilitate project meetings to coordinate work activity.
  • Lead, train, and develop project team members.
  • Prepare and submit monthly job status reports outlining project priorities and issues.
  • Support project close-out, including turnover of manuals and warranties and preparation of final payment documents for subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, engineering, and design firms.
  • Establish project deadlines and monitor progress.
  • Provide leadership to foster an environment of inclusion and diversity.
  • Anticipate stakeholders’ needs, desires, and goals to exceed expectations.
  • Drive process improvement, efficiency, and a culture of safety in the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Preferred degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or other business-related fields, or similar relevant work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Careful attention to detail and reliability of output.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SAP, Textura, Coupa, or Google platforms.

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

The role involves prolonged periods of desk work, including collaboration, data analysis, and computer tasks. Effective communication and sharp visual acuity are required for reviewing complex documents.

  • Regularly lift and move objects up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds (e.g., files or small office equipment).
  • Active movement throughout the office and occasional travel to construction sites using various modes of transportation.
  • Primary workspace is a professional office with quiet-to-moderate noise and light levels.
  • Occasional visits to active construction sites, which may include exposure to outdoor weather, louder noise, and moving equipment.
  • Adherence to Clark Construction’s safety policies and procedures, and all applicable laws, is mandatory.
