Job Summary
The Project Controls Analyst position will help manage scope, schedule, resources, and cost, enabling engineers to focus more time on technical responsibilities, improve design accuracy, and support predictable delivery milestones for the organization. This role will be a liaison between design engineers, contract resources, grid stakeholders, jurisdictional schedulers, project managers, and design leadership across the regions.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Utilize project scoping documents to maintain the scope-tracking sheet, including resource requirements and scope-development status for each project.
- Ensure all relevant scoping and design activities are accurately represented in P6 schedules.
- Maintain engineering supervisor’s project list, including design-milestone need dates, construction start dates, resource assignments, and other key details.
- Prepare for, lead, and attend monthly meetings with each contractor supporting design to obtain status updates on ongoing designs and upcoming contract releases.
- Develop and maintain a process for tracking estimated costs versus contractor proposals/releases to ensure alignment with project design budgets.
- Maintain lists and develop reports that support supervisors and oversight personnel in managing contractors effectively.
- Meet bi-weekly with each in-house design engineer to review project status, identify workload concerns, communicate upcoming projects, and discuss long-lead material needs and considerations for scoping efforts.
- Prepare for and lead bi-weekly meetings with design leadership to review emerging issues and concerns.
- Ensure all data sources remain synchronized and work toward resolving any discrepancies.
- Enter P6 change requests for the design team for projects and follow up to ensure completion and schedule updates.
- Enter contractor requests for projects based on engineer input.
- Aid in invoice allocation to ensure accurate project charging.
- Aid in resource allocation for project assignments.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)
- Requires a minimum of five (5) years of Project Controls or Project Management related experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with project stakeholders and upper management.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects and determining priorities.
- A skilled writer.
- Understands the basic principles of project management.
- Has a general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating and Change Control.
- High degree of computer literacy.
- Ability to collaborate with construction, field engineers, and vendors.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in engineering documentation.

Working Conditions
- Work is conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office).
- Requires occasional travel to off-site work locations (work may be primarily completed remotely).
- Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
- May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
- May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
