About the Role

The Business Manager will be one of the senior members of the management team led by the Project Manager, responsible for the direction and financial management of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the financial records of the project in accordance with BBII Standard Operating Procedures and GAAP, as well as all support functions (e.g., invoicing, AP, preparation of reports, etc.);
  • Providing monthly financial reports to Divisional and Corporate Management;
  • Preparing detailed Project and overhead cost/revenue forecasts;
  • Maintaining a control environment consistent with BBII SOPs;
  • Cash forecasting and management;
  • Overseeing the preparation, evaluation, and accuracy of budgets and other financial operating reports;
  • Preparing and ensuring the accuracy of reports that summarize and forecast the financial position regarding income, expenses, and budget versus actual performance;
  • Monitoring and reporting actual results vs. key business performance indicators, providing management with continuous improvement plans;
  • Analyzing financial reports for variances from forecasted, budgeted, and benchmarked performance and providing recommendations to the management team;
  • Reviewing operating expenses and providing recommendations for cost reductions, leading a monthly SG&A review process;
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Project Manager/Region Controller in a "Hands-on" team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • 2-4 years of financial management experience on small projects up to $50M;
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the engineering, construction, or manufacturing industry (preferred);
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position;
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Ability to collect and assemble data for the development of financial reports;
  • Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions;
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting methods;
  • Strong communication skills with operations;
  • Strong PC skills and software proficiency;
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills;
  • Budgeting and financial analysis skills.
