Responsibilities

  • Oversees financial aspects of projects, ensuring they stay within budgetary restraints and align with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitates communication and collaboration between team members, management, and vendors to achieve project goals.
  • Processes and reviews construction invoices, verifies retainage, ensures timely payments to vendors.
  • Enters and reviews budget adjustments for compliance with City policy.
  • Reviews expense requisitions for appropriate coding.
  • Provides assistance to departments on matters related to budget allocations and reports.
  • Reviews expense reports and researches discrepancies to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted amounts.
  • Provides assistance to departments in preparing the operating fiscal year budget, capital plan, and position allocation list.
  • Prepares a variety of regular and special reports.
  • Affords assistance in reviewing operational and financial budget proposals submitted by department heads and managers.
  • Affords assistance in preparing and submitting operation and capital budget summaries for review by senior management and City Council.
  • Affords assistance in the preparation of final budget documents.
  • Performs related duties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of project life cycles.
  • Knowledge of AIA construction invoices and computation of retainage.
  • Knowledge of budget development and GAAP principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, city ordinances, and department policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Skill in problem solving.
  • Skill in prioritizing and planning.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to Accounting or Finance.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
  • Ability to be bonded.

Pay

$55,425.92
