Responsibilities
- Take ownership of billing activities across multiple projects while partnering closely with project managers and customers
- Review customer contracts and establish accurate project billing structures
- Set up new projects and ensure billing requirements align with contractual terms
- Manage work orders, billing cycles, invoices, and customer payment coordination
- Enter and maintain project information, including change orders, within Spectrum
- Partner closely with project managers to obtain documentation and ensure accurate, timely billing
- Research billing discrepancies and resolve issues that could delay customer payment
- Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with B2B collections and payment follow-up
- Maintain accurate billing documentation and project records
- Support prevailing wage projects, including setting up appropriate classifications
- Identify and resolve billing issues before they impact project cash flow
Requirements
- 3+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, project billing, or related experience
- Strong B2B collections experience with the ability to research and resolve outstanding balances
- Experience reviewing contracts and working with detailed billing requirements
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills
- Experience working within ERP or accounting systems; Spectrum experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Confidence communicating with project managers, customers, and internal accounting teams
- Construction, project-based, or job-cost accounting experience is a plus
