Responsibilities
- Provide onsite Construction Facilities Management (CFM) support at the West Haven VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT.
- Support major renovation and construction efforts within an active VA medical facility by providing administrative and coordination support in accordance with Government requirements.
- Support project documentation and tracking including daily activity logs, meeting minutes, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, inspection reports, and closeout documentation.
- Organize, sort, file, and track construction-related documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, site walks, and distribute meeting materials.
- Coordinate with contractors, designers, and Government stakeholders.
- Show strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Show proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Kahua or other VA/federal construction management systems preferred.
- Work independently and as part of a project team.
Requirements
- Ability to perform full-time onsite administrative and project support at an occupied VA medical facility.
- Working knowledge of federal construction processes and documentation requirements preferred.
- Experience providing administrative support on construction or facilities projects.
- Ability to support project documentation and tracking including daily activity logs, meeting minutes, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, inspection reports, and closeout documentation.
- Ability to organize, sort, file, and track construction-related documentation.
- Ability to schedule and coordinate meetings, site walks, and distribute meeting materials.
- Ability to coordinate with contractors, designers, and Government stakeholders.
- Show strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Show proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Kahua or other VA/federal construction management systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience providing administrative or project support within a construction or facilities environment.
Skills
- Experience supporting construction management, engineering, or facilities projects.
- Experience working on healthcare, VA, or federally funded construction projects preferred.
- Experience supporting projects within occupied facilities strongly preferred.
- Prior VA, VISN, Department of Defense, or other federal healthcare facility experience a plus.
