About the role

We are seeking an experienced, passionate Project Architect / Project Manager to take the helm on multiple mid-sized multi-family projects. In this role, you won't just be executing designs; you will be actively shaping the future of our practice and our team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead with Purpose: Manage the production of meaningful multi-family housing projects from start to finish.
  • Shape Our Standards: Step beyond day-to-day project management to help us refine our office standards and elevate our quality control processes.
  • Share Your Expertise: Use your deep knowledge of wood-frame construction, code compliance, and constructability to ensure our designs are built successfully.
  • Mentor & Inspire: Bring your strong communication skills and a mentorship mentality to foster the next generation of architects in our studio.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing multi-family wood-frame construction.
  • High proficiency in industry-standard production software.
  • A collaborative spirit and a genuine desire to teach, guide, and lead.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university, or similar.
  • License in Architecture in the State of California.
  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience in the profession.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong technical skills in wood-frame multi-family residential projects, including code compliance, overseeing production documents, construction detailing, and construction administration.
  • Proven experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams (civil, structural, MEP, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills that complement the principals’ financial, schedule, design, and technical goals for different projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and communication skills, including the ability to successfully develop and roll out standards effectively for a diverse group of staff and project needs.
  • Experience with affordable housing or a commitment to socially- and environmentally- focused work is a plus.
