Project Architect

The Apply Description GMB is seeking a full-time experienced Project Architect to join their team. The role involves championing the design throughout various phases of projects in K-12 and Higher Education Markets. The ideal candidate will be part of GMB’s project teams, contributing to project design, construction documentation, and field observation.

As a Project Architect With GMB

• Develop project documentation for multiple projects of varying scale and type
• Aid in developing programmatic documentation and studies
• Clearly communicate design internally and externally
• Create construction drawings and specifications to meet owner goals
• Assist with construction administration and closeout documentation efforts
• Ensure coordination across multidisciplinary project teams
• Participate actively in an internal Project Architecture & Design team
• Develop strategies and best practices for high-quality work
• Share knowledge, ensure discipline quality, and build relationships

What Type of Knowledge Do You Need to Succeed in This Role?

We seek someone who can fully own projects in their area of expertise and take initiative through identifying gaps and opportunities. Key components that may indicate you are at this knowledge milestone include:

• A professional degree in Architecture from an accredited college/university
• 10+ years of experience in an architectural firm
• Thoroughness in drawing and communicating design
• Proficiency executing architectural details
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Proficiency in Revit

What Might Set You Apart from Other Candidates?

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• Architectural registration, completed or in-progress
• Passion for the Education Market
• Experience with K-12 and Higher Education markets
• Strong knowledge of design, construction methodology, architectural building systems, and material application
• Experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, or other 3D modeling, animation, rendering computer graphics programs
• Familiarity with specification writing

Job Details

• This is a full-time, permanent position
• Salary will be commensurate with experience, including an excellent benefit package
