About the role
BRPH is a technically focused, creative architecture, engineering, and construction company with over six decades of expertise in helping mission-driven clients in various sectors. The Project Controls Specialist II supports project controls functions and assists in managing project scopes and costs.
Responsibilities
- Services include planning, cost, and schedule metrics and tools, collecting performance data, tracking data, analyzing, and reporting.
- Aids the Project Manager in tracking changes to the project scope and supporting cost and schedule impact estimates.
- Integrates cost and schedule data with the company's accounting and management information systems to meet performance and financial goals.
- Supports change control management, document control management, and critical path method network analysis.
- Works closely with assigned Project Manager and project teams to fulfill project controls requirements.
- Reviews project contractual requirements and ensures compliance.
- Maintains the Project book for assigned Project Manager.
- Manages the systematic retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of technical data and correspondence.
- Assists Project Managers in preparing budgets, project plans, meeting minutes, AIA contracts, reports, proposals, responses to reviews, and other required project documentation.
- Covers design submittals, compiles drawings, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, design analyses, and reports for clients.
- Notifies team members of quality and submittal requirements and deadlines.
- Prepares project requisitions for new projects, prepares PO requests for sub-consultants, sets up and maintains project team and project center administration in Newforma, prepares QC reports for all design submittals, and handles Construction Administration requirements.
- Sets up and maintains project logs including revision log, ASI log, supplemental sketch log, etc., and handles Bid Phase administration.
- Attends meetings and records minutes when required, attends bid openings, releases and returns plan deposit checks, and manages project schedules.
- Reviews expenditures for coding accuracy, updates commitment logs for purchase orders and subcontracts, and assists in the development of information for trending and forecasting processes.
- Supports the project change order process and gains insight into its importance.
Requirements
- Associates degree or bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent technical training.
- A minimum of six years of experience in engineering, architecture, project administration, procurement, and construction projects.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook (current BRPH version).
- Good human relations skills, including the ability to effectively direct and relate to others positively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Skills
- Reviews expenditures for coding accuracy.
- Updates commitment log for purchase orders and subcontracts.
- Supports the development of information for trending and forecasting processes.
- Supports the preparation of information for progress measurement.
- Exposure to rudimentary earned value information and its application.
- Supports the gathering of information from the accounting system for tracking actual cost information.
