Project Accountant - Construction

The Douglas Company has specialized in Senior Living and Multi-Family design and construction for over 40 years, building projects throughout the eastern half of the United States with offices in the Midwest and Southeast.

About the role

The Project Accountant is an office administrative role responsible for all accounts payable requirements of a construction project, including data entry, A/P check processing, document collection, lien waivers, insurance verification, monthly Owner billing, Sworn Statement preparation, and electronic filing.

Responsibilities

• Process all job costs in a timely and accurate manner with proper documentation
• Prepare monthly job cost accrual reports
• Process owner billings and related sworn statements
• Process payments to subcontractors and suppliers
• Obtain project lien waivers
• Obtain contract documents and change orders prior to vendor payments
• Obtain current and valid insurances
• Obtain vendor W-9 information
• Electronic filing and imaging of invoices and other documents into the company imaging system

Requirements

• High School Diploma (required)
• 2–3 years of construction job cost accounting experience (required)
• Commercial construction experience (preferred)

Skills

• Knowledge of Sage 300 ERP system (a plus)
• Knowledge of Procore construction management software (a plus)
