Project Accountant

About the role

NBBJ is seeking a Project Accountant to join our collaborative Finance team and play a critical role in supporting projects across the firm. This role is available in our Columbus, OH or Seattle, WA office.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project managers, clients and sub-consultants to prepare monthly invoices based on contract requirements
• Review and interpret contract terms to accurately establish budgets and billing terms within our financial system
• Validate and process high volume of consultant invoices and ensure project costs are recorded correctly
• Maintain finance project files
• Review and audit teammates' work and assist where needed
• Collaborate with your team to identify and implement process improvements
• Assist with timesheet collection and participate in special projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Minimum of 3 years of project cost accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable functions
• Solid grasp of project financial performance, including revenue and profitability
• Strong MS Excel skills with proficiency in Word, Outlook and Adobe; experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond to clients and team members in a professional and timely manner
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and follow through
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
• Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative environment

Pay

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $68,000 and $80,000 for Seattle. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on skills, qualifications and experience.

Schedule

NBBJ is an office first firm, with an expectation that all staff are able to be present in the office a minimum of 4 days per week.
