Abbott Construction is part of the STO Building Group family of companies, which includes over 4,000 employees located in offices throughout the US, Canada, UK, and Ireland. We provide a complete range of construction services, from site selection analysis, design constructability review, and aesthetic enhancements to interior fit-outs, new building construction, and building infrastructure upgrades and modernization.
About the Role
This position supports the financial management of construction projects by preparing, reviewing, and reporting budgeted versus actual cost information. The role is responsible for monthly financial reporting, subcontractor and supplier financial and compliance review, and maintaining state tax compliance in alignment with project and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the monthly review of project budgets, costs, and profit.
- Research and audits projects or specific items as needed.
- Inputs and tracks data related to budgets and project costs.
- Produces owner billings for specific projects.
- Reviews subcontractor and/or supplier financial statements.
- Tracks and reports fixed assets acquisitions and disposals.
- Researches and files state tax requirements for various construction projects.
- Continually improves processing activities and reports to give operations the best information possible within time constraints.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- 1-3 years of previous accounting or equivalent experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency with PC computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
- Cost accounting experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Previous experience with an audit firm is a plus.
Pay
The full salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. This position is eligible for a target bonus.

Sick leave accrues at one (1) hour for every 30 hours worked. Accrual for sick leave is capped at 240 hours. At the end of each calendar year, you will be allowed to carry over accrued and unused sick leave up to 240 hours. You will not begin accruing sick leave until you drop below the accrual cap.
