Project Accountant

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a project accountant to join our Finance department. Our finance team plays a critical role in supporting projects that improve infrastructure, strengthen communities, and serve clients nationwide. About the role

In this role you will partner closely with project managers and finance team members to ensure accurate, timely billing and support the financial health of projects. Some travel may be required.

• Processing invoices for assigned department managers
• Creating projects in our accounting software, including billing terms and project budgets
• Investigating client payments and outstanding invoice inquiries
• Assisting with research and resolution of client questions
• Running standard reports
• Working closely with project managers and department managers to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting, and project billing
• Compiling and updating finance processes and procedures

Requirements

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, business, or related field OR
• An associate degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, business, or related field and two (2) years of relevant invoicing or billing experience OR
• If no degree, at least four (4) years of relevant invoicing or billing experience

• Experience with computerized financial accounting systems
• Knowledge of overall financial management
• Knowledge of engineering and architectural services
• Knowledge of Deltek Vision or Dynamics
• Knowledge of professional accounting practices
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and able to work well both independently and as part of a team

Pay

Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 hourly. Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.
