Progressive Care Unit - Clinical Nurse

About the role

Provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, within established nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Develops and documents individualized care plans, collaborates with the healthcare team, and communicates effectively across care settings. Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values, cultural, and spiritual considerations.

Responsibilities

• Gains critical care experience in a high-acuity telemetry unit with cardiac, respiratory, and stroke patients
• Implements the BJC RN Career Ladder to support professional growth, leadership, and career advancement, with associated pay increases
• Participates in ongoing professional development and maintains compliance with safety standards

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree
• RN license
• Optional Bachelor's Degree with two years of experience for preferred candidates
