Programming Assistant

Job Summary

This role involves assisting the Program Director in creating, scheduling, and implementing programs for Nashoba Park's senior residents. The ideal candidate should have experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.

Nashoba Park in Ayer, Massachusetts seeks a patient, innovative programmer to join their compassionate and dynamic team. The position involves formulating meaningful relationships with residents and families, coordinating daily programming, supporting entertainment initiatives, and participating in community events.

Responsibilities

• Form meaningful relationships with residents and families
• Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily programming schedule for 7 days per week
• Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors
• Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site
• Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred
• Must have 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations
• Physical requirements: Standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance)
• Communication: An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers

Pay & Schedule

• Rates start at $15 per hour
• Available Shifts: Part Time - weekends 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM with flexibility during weekdays
