About the role
Senior Living Residences Marlboro is seeking a patient, innovative programmer who is creative, friendly, compassionate, and organized to assist the Program Director in creating, scheduling, and implementing programs for our residents. Our programming team members provide dynamic opportunities and meaningful engagement for our senior residents in a safe, home-like, and fun work environment.
Responsibilities
- Form meaningful relationships with residents and families
- Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily programming schedule for 7 days per week
- Support coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors
- Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site
- Assist with support group and educational sessions for families and staff
- Support development of monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred
- 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers
- Punctuality and reliability in assisting residents with daily living activities
Physical requirements include standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance).
Schedule
Part Time: Wednesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay
Rates start at $16.50 per hour.
