Programming Assistant

Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner is seeking a patient, innovative programmer who is creative, friendly, compassionate, and organized to assist the Program Director in creating, scheduling, and implementing therapeutic programs for our memory care residents.

Responsibilities

• Form meaningful relationships with residents and families
• Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily therapeutic programming schedule for 7 days per week
• Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors
• Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site
• Assist with support group and educational sessions for families and staff
• Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred
• 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers
• Punctuality and reliability

Physical requirements

• Standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance)

Pay

Rates start at $17 per hour.

Schedule

Per diem, as needed coverage.
