Program Underwriter Transportation

Responsibilities

• Work with a wholesale agency specializing in Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) and Ambulance risks.
• Evaluate new business submissions for NEMT and Ambulance appetite acceptability.
• Negotiate new business quotes and renewals with insurance carrier underwriting partners, leading to the binding of business.
• Maintain underwriting files and prepare reports and presentations as required.
• Collaborate with agents to drive multi-line sales on individual accounts, including workers compensation, general liability, and professional liability coverages related to NEMT and Ambulance risks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial auto underwriting experience, preferably in transportation.
• Strong knowledge of commercial auto insurance rating, forms, and coverages.
• Ability to make timely decisions with appropriate information and consultation.
• Proven track record of building strong business relationships with agents and insureds.
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment to drive results.
• Experience working with IMS or other Insurance Agency Management Systems.
