Program Technician I/II – Bilingual (Spanish) position; must pass a bilingual Spanish fluency examination.

The Employment Development Department (EDD) connects job seekers and employers to support California’s economy. This role is based at 606 Healdsburg Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95404.
Responsibilities
- Program Technician I:
- Process less complex program specialist work under close supervision.
- Review and process detailed and semi-technical forms, files, and documents for specialized departmental programs.
- Identify and report suspected fraudulent claims or activities.
- Perform duties for other specialized projects as needed.
- Demonstrate awareness of the Department and Branch vision, mission, values, and goals.
- Program Technician II:
- Process more complex program specialist work under general supervision.
- Review and process detailed and technical forms, files, and documents for multiple departmental programs or areas requiring specialized knowledge.
- Perform difficult calculations or processing where guidelines are unclear.
- Provide sensitive and detailed program information or direction to the public, employees, employers, medical providers, other jurisdictions, or clients.
- Identify and report suspected fraudulent claims or activities.
- Perform duties for other specialized projects as needed.
- Demonstrate awareness of the Department and Branch vision, mission, values, and goals.
Requirements
- Fluency in Spanish; must pass an approved language fluency test if no prior record exists with the State of California.
- Ability to meet the minimum qualifications for the classification as stated in the Classification Specification.
Pay
- Program Technician II: $3,833.00 – $4,804.00 per month. New hires start at the minimum salary of the classification or alternate range.
- Program Technician I (considered for eligible candidates): $3,316.00 – $4,456.00 per month.
Effective July 1, 2025, specific bargaining units and excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction of 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025).
Schedule
- Work Shift: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Work Week: Monday – Friday.
- Telework: In-office.
