Program Support Specialist
Are you committed to public service and would like to make a difference in the lives of Older Adults, Adults with Disabilities, and their Caregivers? Aging and Disability Services (ADS), a division of the Seattle Human Services Department, is the Area Agency on Aging for Seattle-King County. We are seeking an undergraduate student to assist with administrative duties for the planning unit of ADS. This internship opportunity offers a unique experience for students to gain insight into an agency that offers county-wide supports and services enabling our community to age in place.
About the role
You will learn about, and be a part of, exciting innovative initiatives with professionals committed to the field and communities we serve. The position will primarily input community resource information into a state-wide data system and assist with other administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Input and maintain community resources into a state-wide data system.
- Assist with outreach, community engagement, meetings and events including virtual meetings and events.
- Participate in internal and external meetings.
- Assist with data entry, data reconciliation, reports and website updates.
- Create forms, flyers, brochures, and other materials.
- Other administrative tasks and projects as assigned include:
- Organizing office inventory
- Delivering materials
- Researching best and promising practices and literature reviews
Requirements
- College student enrolled in an accredited 2-year or 4-year educational program preferably studying: Social work, psychology, sociology, public health, public administration, or other related areas.
- Undergraduate students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 throughout the duration of the internship.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to create spreadsheets and workbooks.
- Ability to gather and input information accurately and efficiently in a data system.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English proficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
- Ability to learn virtual tools, data systems, and other workflow tools independently.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Experience creating forms, flyers, brochures and websites particularly with WordPress.
- Commitment to race and social justice.
Schedule
- Intern will work 15-20 hours/week while school is in session, with the opportunity to work more during breaks.
- Work hours can be scheduled between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
- Intern may work some weekends and/or evenings.
This position will start in late September 2026 and end late September 2027 with possibility for extension.
Pay
Hourly Rate: $22.56 per hour.
