We are seeking a highly organized and experienced individual who is detail-oriented and eager to support the UAW-Ford Joint Trusts programs and committees. This is a full-time, on-site union position involving administrative and clerical support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical and administrative functions/support for assigned programs and/or committees in a multifunctional capacity.
  • Prepare and type correspondence, memos, reports, forms, presentations, etc. utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proofread documents for proper grammatical usage, spelling, punctuation, and make corrections as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain logs or other tracking systems for follow-up on various correspondence, reports, forms, etc.
  • Establish and maintain files regarding specific assignments (e.g., training and education programs and/or events).
  • Make copies utilizing reprographic equipment and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, presentations, etc.
  • Prepare registration documents and conference/training-related materials.
  • Coordinate and secure transportation for trainings and conferences.
  • Coordinate programs and/or committees' office supply needs.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of computerized vendor and class profiles.
  • Assist in the administration and processing of invoices and check requests for assigned programs and/or committees.
  • Assist departments and/or committees with all joint internal/external programs, conferences, and/or trainings, including preparation of facility usage requests (FURS), registrations, etc., ensuring successful execution and outcomes.
  • Work independently.
  • Answer and direct phone calls.
  • Process, compile, research, and analyze complex information, and prepare and verify reports, correspondence, and other documents utilizing applicable software within established procedures.
  • Sort, file, and maintain materials and filing systems (paper, computer, or imaging).
  • Coordinate and monitor the completion of specialized, time-sensitive projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 years or more of related experience.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) based on required assessments.
  • Type 40 wpm corrected based on required test.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to apply analytical skills in daily tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and equipment.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, including overnight travel.

Pay

$26.41–$33.01 per hour.

Location: Detroit (on-site).
