Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure health, safety, and habilitation of the people supported consistent with agency philosophy and department practices.
  • Ensure the appropriate, therapeutically documented level of supervision in the residence, day program, or community to protect the health and/or safety of the people supported.
  • Provide program/floor coverage when necessary.
  • Promote and maintain excellence in programs.
  • Develop professional, empathic relationships with family members, ensuring they are included in the team process.
  • Lead and facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings to ensure effective communication.
  • Attend regional and agency supervisor meetings or as directed by your supervisor.
  • Attend and actively participate in planning meetings for the people supported.
  • Foster interagency collaboration.
  • Bring the organizational culture to life.
  • Ensure a work environment that is free from harassment and discrimination.
  • Play an active role in the hiring process; interview and select appropriate staff based on program needs.
  • Maintain direct relationships with staff.
  • Build staff morale.
  • Foster professional development through regular supervision, training, and evaluations.
  • Supervise staff to ensure they are meeting the needs of the people supported and agency standards.
  • Utilize participatory management.
  • Foster the Open-Door Policy.
  • Maintain oversight and compliance of systems specific to role and responsibilities.
  • Foster communication and maintain professional relationships between relevant supports, including those within the program, within the agency, and supports outside the agency.
  • Oversee all financial systems, maintain records for the people supported and program expenditures.
  • Operate the program within budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff and the people supported and report any hazardous conditions.
  • Ensure the completion and maintenance of all paperwork and written records related to individual treatment, including but not limited to medical records, treatment records, progress reports, data collection, behavior reports, incident reports, billing records, and all written communication systems.
  • Report and monitor incidents, as well as assist with the investigative process.
  • Perform responsibilities as they currently exist or may change to meet the needs of the department, under the supervision of your supervisor/manager.

Education And Experience

  • BA/BS strongly preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred
  • Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed writing skills

  • Highly flexible personality type
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred depending on location
  • Flexibility to respond to calls and programmatic needs beyond regular work hours
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to learn/use Workforce Management software to effectively carry out essential business processes

Compensation

$66,300/annually
