About the Role

The Program Supervisor supports and supervises Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff and oversees the operation of KCARC’s Residential homes.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to KCARC’s quality policy of continuously improving service delivery to meet or exceed requirements.
  • Promote KCARC’s mission and values through personal example, educational opportunities, honest communication, and mutual accountability.
  • Conduct weekly home visits to monitor programming implementation, ensuring active treatment and participant needs are met.
  • Provide daily support in assigned homes to ensure appropriate individual care and staff competency.
  • Fill open shifts in various locations as needed.
  • Manage, record, and approve/deny DSP schedules, clocked work hours, and PTO requests; communicate deviations to your direct supervisor.
  • Ensure accurate billing entries for codes, times, and individuals served using designated software.
  • Track and approve time and attendance for payroll and human resources.
  • Assist with ensuring staff submit required documentation (e.g., driver’s license renewals, auto insurance) and forward to Human Resources.
  • Plan and assign safety drills to comply with state, federal, and agency regulations.
  • Monitor home food purchases, promote healthy choices, and ensure individuals have essentials like clothing and personal hygiene items.
  • Maintain pest control systems and inspect homes to ensure a pest-free environment.
  • Inspect assigned sites for cleanliness and assist DSP staff with required checklists.
  • Maintain accurate property lists for all individuals.
  • Oversee individuals’ finances, including necessary paperwork and budget sheets.
  • Coordinate transportation and outings, including activities like Special Olympics.
  • Report all incidents to your direct supervisor immediately.
  • Assist with moves and ensure a team-oriented environment with clear communication.
  • Complete all assigned training by the due date and maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Perform audits and competency checks as directed by your supervisor.
  • Frequently lift 75 pounds independently and over 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary; additional hours may be required.

Requirements

  • Maintain reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and proof of automobile liability coverage.
  • Flexible schedule to meet department demands.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to use tact and empathy when working with diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships and work independently or in a team.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Associate’s degree in public/business administration, education, rehabilitation, sociology/social work/psychology, or related fields preferred.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Medication Administration: Core A and Core B.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.

Physical Demands

The employee must be able to perform the essential duties of this job, including frequently lifting 75 pounds independently and over 75 pounds with assistance.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate but occasionally loud. Use of personal protective equipment such as vinyl or latex gloves is occasionally required.
