About the role
The Program Specialist I supports and expands SEED Academy, Nassau BOCES' professional learning initiative for both instructional and non-instructional staff.
Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and support high-quality professional learning that enhances technology use, staff productivity, instructional effectiveness, and organizational efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align training with staff roles and agency priorities.
- Stay current on emerging technologies, instructional trends, adult learning practices, and policies related to data privacy and professional development.
Requirements
- New York State Education Department Certification: School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL).
- Experience supporting instructional and non-instructional staff through face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual professional learning aligned with the effective use of technology.
- Proven ability to design and deliver staff training on current digital tools and technology trends, including artificial intelligence, Microsoft Office productivity tools, instructional technologies, student information systems, and related platforms.
- Demonstrated understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and agency policies.
- Excellent coaching, interpersonal, written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and differentiated professional learning approaches.
- Able to travel throughout Nassau County.
