Duties
- Initiate and/or authorize a variety of Requests for Personnel Action including recruitments, reassignments, awards, and salary related actions.
- Cook up changes to paragraph/line numbers and position numbers with manpower analyst.
- Maintain files on personnel actions and coordinate actions with appropriate staff or supervisor.
- Verify accuracy of required duties within position descriptions.
- Advise management by recommending changes to position descriptions, preparing new position descriptions, and implementing new classification standards.
- Advise selecting officials on proper civilian hiring authorities, illegal hiring practices, and merit system principles.
- Develop tools to support hiring panels, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed and processes documented.
- Prepare selection and recommendation packages, ensuring requirements and regulatory policies have been applied and appropriate review and approval have been obtained.
- Counsel employees on PCS entitlements and coordinate documents for submittal and processing.
- Counsel employees on reimbursement for available entitlements.
Qualifications
- Conditions of employment: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
- May be required to perform TDY of at least 20% of the time and may be subject to extended TDY.
