Job Summary

The Program Research Assistant (PRA) is a temporary doctoral student position within the Foundation's Research and Evaluation Team. The PRA supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Foundation's research and evaluation activities, contributes to special projects and initiatives, and participates in the development and execution of research studies.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment at an accredited university doctoral program, located in the Chicago area, with a primary research focus in education required.
  • At least two years of experience using qualitative research methods on one or more research projects required.
  • Qualitative research experience should include designing and conducting interviews and focus groups, coding and thematic analysis, and proficiency with qualitative data software such as NVivo, ATLAS.ti, or Dedoose.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a strong equity lens and experience with equity-centered or community-based participatory research methods.
  • Experience with project management is a plus.

  • Aptitude for implementing and maintaining various computer systems in support the work.

Physical/Sensory And Environmental Requirements

  • Office setting.
  • This position is a hybrid role, with mandatory one (1) day in the office.
  • Additional in-office days may be required.
  • A significant amount of time is spent doing detailed computer work, either sitting or standing.
  • The primary repetitive motion in which the incumbent is engaged is keyboarding.

Pay And Benefits

  • Pay range: $38.00/hour
