About the role
The Reactor Plant Planning Yard program supports the entire commissioned submarine fleet, Moored Training Ships, and S8G Prototype through maintenance and modernization. The program focuses on increasing operational availability and capability by managing and improving nuclear and non-nuclear propulsion plant systems and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction regarding program requirements and goals, estimate development efforts with engineering, and identify and mitigate risks
- Manage multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders to drive product issuance through budget and schedule monitoring and oversight for program work
- Review program products such as drawings, alteration instructions, liaison inquiries, and other correspondence
- Understand, interpret, develop, and revise program procedures and guidance documents
- Collaborate across multiple departments to resolve programmatic and technical issues
- Initiate and implement process improvements
- Create, maintain, and analyze program metrics with respect to cost, schedule, and technical performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, Associates degree, or 5 years’ planning yard experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain, or currently possess, an active DoD Secret Clearance
- Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related Technical Degree (B.S. in Applied Mathematics, IT, Physics, etc.)
- Proficiency (2+ years of experience) with NNPP Net, ARTEMIS, and Commitment Reporting
- Experience working with NAVSEA and/or prime contractors

- Well-developed interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
- Able to work in a team environment
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
