About the role

The Program Projects Specialist 2 (PPS 2) processes requests made by field staff for the Department of Child Safety (DCS) clients for Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) claims and reimbursements. This position also provides DCS field staff support with questions and issues related to service needs for families.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Office of Procurement and Contracts and the placement unit regarding DDD placements, claims, and reimbursements.
  • Provides support and assistance to the Resource Unit Supervisor by assisting with staff training, acting supervisor duties, updating logs, completing end-of-week reports for Program Administrators and Central Office staff, and maintaining weekly huddle board metrics.
  • Assists the payment processing unit with adding or correcting service authorizations to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Serves as a backup to the PSE 1, 2, or 3 and may process service authorization requests for services including parent aide services, supervised visitation, in-home services, building resilient families, psychological or counseling requests, adoptive home-study requests, and psychiatric evaluations.
  • Monitors mailboxes, sends correspondence to providers, handles non-contract claims, out-of-state requests, or assists with billing and payment issues.
  • Provides technical assistance in person, by telephone, or email to field staff or service providers.
  • Participates in and attends statewide provider meetings and field unit meetings.
  • Maintains, enters, updates, and tracks service authorizations and other GUARDIAN data as requested by the supervisor and Program Manager.
  • Assists with updating tracking logs and completes special projects as assigned by leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned related to the position.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and statutes governing contractual agreements.

  • Familiarity with budget development and expenditure controls.
  • Awareness of community resources available to meet the needs of program clientele.
  • Knowledge of contemporary service programs and delivery systems in public agencies.
  • Understanding of federal laws governing assigned program areas.
  • Familiarity with policies and procedures established for the work system.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of work experience in a related position.
  • Experience in procurement and contracting.
  • Computer experience and/or training related to applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and GUARDIAN.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment.
  • Subject to driver’s license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Completion of any required driver training.
  • May be required to use personal transportation and maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration (mileage may be reimbursed).
  • Ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
  • Successful completion of the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Pay

$24.6569 hourly / $51,286.35 annually (Salary Grade: 19)
