Social Media Program Manager

Staples is seeking a Program Manager, Social Media to join our dynamic marketing team. This role supports the social strategy team by overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of Staples' social media programs across various platforms. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the creation or capture of social-first content, especially for short-form video or trend-based formats.
  • Adapting approved campaign messaging into platform-appropriate social copy.
  • Managing the social content calendar, coordinating posts tied to marketing campaigns, promotions, partnerships, and brand storytelling.
  • Working with Brand, Creative, Marketing, and PR teams to ensure social content is published on time, aligned with campaigns, and optimized for each platform.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about social media, with strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of how content performs across social platforms. This role also involves actively engaging with Staples’ social communities, monitoring social channels, and supporting cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and scheduling of posts across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Aid in drafting and editing social copy that reflects Staples’ brand voice.
  • Ensure social content aligns with platform best practices and formatting.
  • Maintain social trackers, calendars, and reporting documents.
  • Partner with Marketing, Brand, Creative, and PR teams to support social media needs tied to campaigns and announcements.
  • Coordinate timelines and deliverables with internal teams and external partners when needed.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, content coordination, or communications.
  • Strong interest in social media platforms and digital culture.
  • Experience creating social content (especially short-form video) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, particularly for short-form content.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate across teams.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others.
  • Experience with social management tools (Hootsuite, Sprout, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with content calendars, campaign coordination, or digital publishing is a plus.
  • Retail, B2B, or brand marketing experience is helpful but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating social content, particularly short-form video.
  • Experience with social management tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout.
  • Background in content calendars, campaign coordination, or digital publishing.
  • Experience partnering with influencers, creators, or external agencies.
  • Retail, B2B, or brand marketing experience.
