About the Role
Perform all management and administrative functions for maintaining the special/general purpose vehicle fleet, weapon systems fleet, organizational equipment, shop equipment, and vehicle maintenance buildings. Provide services dedicated to ensuring a safe and serviceable vehicle fleet critical to the success of the Silver Flag Exercise training site. Be fully trained, professional, and customer-service oriented while ensuring quality work performance in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to vehicle operation and maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency, including scheduling regular maintenance, organizing repairs, and conducting fleet evaluations to meet regulatory standards.
- Manage operational budgets and track expenditures on fuel, repairs, and vehicle replacements. Implement cost-saving strategies, optimize fleet utilization, and leverage technology like telematics and predictive maintenance systems to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
- Ensure all vehicles and drivers comply with legal and regulatory requirements by maintaining records of inspections, certifications, and safety audits, and enforcing company policies to minimize risk.
- Use GPS tracking, fleet management software, and telematics to monitor vehicle performance, optimize routes, and generate reports for upper management.
- Analyze data to improve operational efficiency and support strategic decision-making, including long-term planning for fleet expansion, adoption of new technologies, and integration of electric or alternative fuel vehicles.
Requirements
- Three years of experience as a Program Manager in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management.
- Ability to pass a National Criminal History Check (NCHC).
- Valid Driver’s License.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
- Three years of experience as a Program Manager in Fleet Maintenance or Fleet Vehicle Management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Upper-level education or certificates in Fleet Management or Program Management.
- US Air Force experience in Vehicle Fleet Management at USAF Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) or Redhorse Training.
