Program Manager, TRiO Student Support Services
CU Boulder’s Student Academic Success Center (SASC) is hiring a Program Manager for the federally funded TRiO Student Support Services project. This role is part of a 3-member team that delivers a 6-year pathway of academic services to 200+ TRiO-eligible students, improving recruitment, persistence, graduation, and post-baccalaureate outcomes.
About the role
The Program Manager oversees a high-contact student-success model, contributing to outreach, retention, financial, and evaluation cycles. Responsibilities include scholarship disbursement, coaching, enrichment activities, budget management, data assessment, and supervising student hourly employees in leadership roles.
Responsibilities
- Program Management
- Lead daily operations of the TRiO SSS program through its annual cycle from high school outreach to alumni relations.
- Implement the plan of operations with the Director, including scholarship disbursement, workshop facilitation, enrichment activities, and collaborative projects.
- Hire, train, and supervise student hourly employees in student leadership roles.
- Perform delegated independent duties to ensure delivery of required and permissible services based on the program’s logic model.
- Academic Management
- Mentor a multi-cohort caseload of TRiO SSS Scholars to support a whole-student model of personal, academic, and professional success.
- Coordinate small-group coaching sessions on academic success, financial literacy, and career readiness.
- Develop advocacy, enrichment, and success plans for individual students based on high-need or high-risk factors informed by national practices.
- Assist students in skill-building and goal-planning from matriculation to graduation.
- Records Management
- Design and implement record management for program assessment and budget planning, including formative and summative evaluation of services, staffing, and resources.
- Coordinate and improve record-keeping systems, caseload files, financial documents, and collaborator reports.
- Collect, assess, and apply annual performance data in collaboration with the Director.
- Communications Management
- Implement a multimedia communication plan for participant engagement, staff training, donor stewardship, and alumni outreach.
- Design and maintain the program’s website, newsletter, and social media accounts.
- Develop strategic relations materials for internal and external collaborators as required.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional evening or weekend hours. Hybrid work modality: 3 days on campus, 2 days remote.
Pay
Annual salary of $57,200 for this full-time position.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or any discipline-based field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience administering an educational opportunity program in higher education or at least one (1) year of experience teaching, advising, or supervising students.
- Knowledge of TRiO legislation, regulation, and history, or the immediate capacity to develop this expertise.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of student development in academic mentoring and employment supervising roles.
- Skills in data management and social media marketing.
- Ability to facilitate multi-modality workshops and services for on-campus or online participants.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Experience working with underrepresented populations.
- Knowledge of mixed-methods research or participatory action research, or the immediate capacity to develop this expertise.
