Coordinator: TRiO Student Support Services
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator for the TRiO SSS program is responsible for several critical aspects of grant implementation. This program targets students pursuing post-secondary degrees who are either the first in their family to attend college, low-income students, or have a documented disability. The position will have primary responsibility for meeting with potential student participants; explaining the program and requirements for participation; planning and providing mentoring to students; problem-solving and advising; and planning special events.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Promote program/project to identify and recruit prospective participants
- Advise, mentor, and academically coach students
- Act as a student case manager utilizing intrusive advising while working with other college/university personnel to ensure the highest quality of student success
- Develop collegial relationships with faculty, administrators, student services staff, learning center staff to better serve our targeted TRiO SSS participants
- Coordinate program workshops, career exploration events, and university field trips, both in and out-of-state
- Supervise mentors and support staff to include: prioritize and assign work; conduct performance evaluations; ensure mentors and support staff are trained and make hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
- Develop and present marketing materials and social media content used for student recruitment or college program to faculty, staff, students, businesses, agencies, local schools, and the community
- Compile and review data and prepare related reports and correspondence
- Respond to requests for information in an assigned program area from faculty, staff, students, businesses, agencies, local schools, and the community
- Participate in developing and monitoring program budgets; monitor grants, write proposals and participate in grant development
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- One year of program experience counseling/advising or serving high school students transitioning to secondary education and/or post-secondary level education
- Preferred: Master's degree
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)

- Strategies to develop positive interpersonal relationships to achieve goals
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and College policies and procedures related to student privacy
- Knowledge of Banner, My Pima and other College technology
- College admission and financial aid application procedures
- Pertinent public speaking and instructional principles and techniques
- Knowledge of applicable computer programs and equipment
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Record-keeping principles
- Supervisory techniques and principles
- Program coordination principles
- Scheduling principles
- Event planning and coordination principles
- Working in a collaborative environment
- Prioritizing work and performing multiple tasks
- Compiling and analyzing data

Pay
Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
