About the role
This position will be open to internal and external applicants and will close on Thursday, July 30, 2026. This position pays between $78,640.00 to $98,300.00 and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Works closely with Operations and Engineering to establish safety objectives and strategies for safety training and audits.
- Performs on-site field safety audits, site inspections, and on-the-job hazard analysis throughout the state.
- Reviews contractor safety plans and reviews contractor job sites for compliance.
- Provides technical and evaluation support for Safety and Health requirements in the field.
- Develops training media to support and provides technical assistance for training courses, plans, and corporate initiatives.
- Safes the company safety manual, including tracking change modifications, editing, and auditing to ensure compliance.
- Covers training requirements with Operations Supervisors to ensure that team members complete training requirements.
- Represents the company as a subject matter expert in support organizations.
- Participates in the budget preparation process regarding monetary resources to conduct safety activities.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Five years of related experience.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- The ability to obtain and maintain all of the following: ASP or CSHO (Construction), First Aid CPR Trainer, Traffic Control Supervisor, and Soil Mechanics/Excavation Technician.
Qualifications
- Experience with NMGC Gas Operations.
- One or more of the following certifications: SHEP (Safety, Health, and Environmental Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), CHSO (Certified Health and Safety Officer), First Aid CPR Trainer, Traffic Control Supervisor, Confined Space or Soil Mechanics/Excavation Technician.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel is required.
- Working outdoors in hot, humid, wet and/or cold conditions 75% of the work day.
- Working overtime and/or weekends, on-call.
- Frequent walking, bending, climbing 50% of the work day.
- Driving, sitting at the wheel of a truck, 35% of the work day.
- Lifting 20 lbs repeatedly on a daily basis and 65 lbs. infrequently.
