About the Role

In a High Reliability Organization, the Program Manager Quality Improvement supports specific quality improvement programs for the hospital to meet regulatory and quality standards. This role demonstrates expertise in quality management and performance improvement through support, education, and facilitation of departments and committees related to reducing harm, promoting patient safety, and improving quality of care. Responsibilities include compiling, displaying, and evaluating evidence-based practices for assigned hospital and medical staff activities. The role applies clinical knowledge and analytical skills to assist leadership in implementing changes focused on improving quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates effectively to different audiences.
  • Proficient in computer skills using Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office, and flowchart tools.
  • Knowledgeable in High-Reliability Principles and PDSA methodology.
  • Quality Leadership and Integration: Advance the organization's commitment to healthcare quality through collaboration, learning opportunities, and communication. Lead the integration of quality into the organization’s infrastructure to achieve objectives (Domain Level: Proficient).
  • Performance and Process Improvement: Use performance and process improvement (PPI), project management, and change management methods to support operational and clinical quality initiatives (Domain Level: Foundational).
  • Population Health and Care Transitions: Evaluate and improve healthcare processes and care transitions to advance efficient, effective, and safe care of defined populations (Domain Level: Foundational).
  • Health Data and Analytics: Leverage the organization’s analytic environment to guide data-driven decision-making and inform quality improvement initiatives (Domain Level: Foundational).
  • Regulatory and Accreditation: Direct organization-wide processes for evaluating, monitoring, and improving compliance with internal and external requirements. Lead preparation for regulatory, accreditation, and certification surveys (Domain Level: Foundational).
  • Patient Safety: Cultivate a safe healthcare environment by promoting safe practices, nurturing a just culture, and improving processes to detect, mitigate, or prevent harm (Domain Level: Proficient).
  • Quality Review and Accountability: Direct activities supporting compliance with voluntary, mandatory, and contractual requirements for data acquisition, analysis, reporting, and improvement (Domain Level: Foundational).
  • Professional Engagement: Engage in the healthcare quality profession with a commitment to ethical practice, competence enhancement, and field advancement (Domain Level: Foundational).

Requirements

  • Associate degree with clinical specialty required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of healthcare experience.
  • Two years of quality management experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) preferred.

Schedule

8 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Friday
