Program Manager- Olsen House

BHcare is developing a new Clinically Managed High-Intensity Residential Substance Use Disorder treatment program (ASAM 3.5) in the Greater New Haven area. This program will provide a highly structured, trauma-informed, and person-centered setting for female-identifying adults with moderate to severe substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions.

About the role

The Program Manager will lead the daily operations of a women’s residential SUD treatment program, ensuring delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based care. This is an onsite essential staff position requiring residence in Connecticut.

Schedule

40 hours per week onsite: Tuesday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The incumbent must report to work during inclement weather and other emergency situations as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of a women’s residential SUD treatment program
• Ensure delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based care
• Oversee programming, engagement, and compliance with ASAM standards
• Supervise and mentor clinical staff, peer specialists, and residential team members
• Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development
• Facilitate team meetings and provide individual and group supervision
• Ensure adherence to ASAM criteria, regulatory standards, and payer requirements
• Monitor documentation quality and program performance
• Prepare for and participate in audits and accreditation reviews
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
• Provide clinical support and coverage when needed (assessments, groups, crisis intervention)
• Build relationships with families, community partners, and referral sources

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a behavioral health field (MSW preferred)
• Must identify as female (Bona Fide Occupational Qualification under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964)
• Active, independent clinical license in Connecticut
• 5+ years in substance use treatment, including residential experience
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Knowledge of ASAM 3.5 level of care (preferred)
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients as needed
