Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate the development of program or project baselines and track performance against the baseline
  • Demonstrated capability to successfully balance technical, cost and schedule performance in the execution of a program or project
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, effectively interface and influence at the IPT-level of program and customer counterparts
  • Demonstrates initiative and effective problem-solving skills
  • Broad understanding of development program business rhythm demonstrating the ability to identify disconnects and raise concerns to program leadership
  • Solid understanding of key programmatic processes to include IRAD and capital planning, EVMS reporting, and program baseline process
  • Risk Management – experienced in risk mitigation and opportunity development. Understands the value of identifying and managing programs risks

The successful candidate will support the Multi-Mission Air Defense program portfolio and be responsible for the execution of programmatic tasks and be provided responsibility for a subset of applicable program sales, EBIT and cash commitments. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion with focus on development programs that will transition to production. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly technical/engineering environment
  • Relevant and recent experience with the Program Planning process
  • Experience implementing or managing advanced development capabilities such as model-based system development, design-for-assembly/design-for-manufacturing, DTUPC process and technical cost estimation.
  • Experience with Agile development environment, management or product owner
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including ability to effectively present to program leadership, business leadership and prospective customers
