Bain & Company · Chicago, IL · 3 days ago
HybridMarketing$128k–$153k/yrFull-time

We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. Our marketing technology team is at the center of a period of meaningful transformation, helping Bain's global marketing organization navigate the evolution of new tools and strategies.

About the role

  • You'll be a core member of Bain's Martech team, partnering closely with marketing stakeholders across all functions.
  • You'll work directly with technology and engineering teams, external implementation partners, and platform vendors.
  • Day to day, you'll act as a deeply embedded co-pilot to the MarTech Director, helping translate strategy into executable plans, keeping initiatives on track, and ensuring that what gets built sees its full potential.
  • As agentic workflows mature, there is also an opportunity to grow into product management across agents.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

  • You'll be part of a team actively building toward an AI-augmented operating model, bringing agentic tools into how we get the right content in front of the right people.
  • The role sits at the center of that work: a product-minded partner who helps new technology initiatives land well and continuously shapes how marketing gets done.
  • You'll work directly alongside the Director, MarTech Strategy & Product Ownership, embedded in a function that touches every part of Bain's global marketing organization.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

  • The work is project-based by nature, moving across platforms, initiatives, and teams, applying product thinking and marketing strategy wherever the next build is happening.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Sitting at the intersection of marketing, product, and technology, you'll help Bain's marketing organization navigate a period of meaningful transformation.
  • The specific initiatives will evolve, but the through-line is consistent: take complex technology builds and make them successful.
  • Product and requirements
    • Partner with the MarTech Director to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for engineering and implementation teams.
    • Support product backlog management, writing and refining requirements as builds evolve.
    • Contribute to product decisions by bringing a grounded understanding of both marketing strategy and technical constraints.
    • Champion a test-and-learn approach, helping teams move from pilot to scaled adoption.
    • Stakeholder and program management
      • Manage cross-functional workstreams across marketing, IT, and external partners, keeping progress visible and blockers cleared.
      • Build strong relationships with marketing stakeholders to understand their needs and objectives, surface pain points, and validate that solutions are working.
      • Prepare and maintain program communications and stakeholder-facing materials.
      • Facilitate working sessions and reviews, ensuring the right people are aligned at the right moments.
    • Strategy and operations
      • Help define how marketing processes evolve as new tools enter the stack, including how humans and agentic systems work together.
      • Identify opportunities to apply product management best practices across new and existing platform investments.
      • Support governance and change management as the MarTech landscape grows more complex.
      • Contribute to vendor evaluation and onboarding as new tools are introduced.

    ABOUT YOU

    • 6-8 years of experience in product management, marketing technology, or a closely related field.
    • 3+ years working directly on technology implementation or product builds, writing requirements, managing backlogs, or working alongside engineering teams.
    • Strong product instincts: you know how to break down a complex problem, write a clear requirement, and keep a build moving toward something useful.
    • Comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands-on execution; you're as comfortable in a stakeholder alignment meeting as you are reviewing a Jira board.
    • Clear, confident communicator who can translate between marketing and technical teams without losing either audience.
    • Able to operate independently in an ambiguous environment and bring structure where there isn't any.
    • Experience at global professional services firm is a plus.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    • This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least 2 days per week.
    • In Boston and Washington DC, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $127,500 - $153,000.
    • In Chicago, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $121,750 - $146,250.
    • Annual discretionary performance bonus.
    • This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation.
    • 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date.
    • Bain & Company's comprehensive benefits and wellness program is designed to help employees achieve personal independence, protection and stability in the areas most important to you and your family.
    • Bain pays 100% individual employee premiums for medical, dental and vision programs, offering one of the most comprehensive medical plans for employees without impacting your paycheck.
    • Generous paid time off, including parental leave, sick leave and paid holidays.
    • Fully vested 401(k) company contribution.
    • Paid Life and Long-Term Disability insurance.
