About the role

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 253-bed hospital serving the fastest-growing area of San Antonio. The hospital is seeking a professional to oversee the planning and overall clinical operations of the bariatric program.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and overall operation of the bariatric program
  • Manage ongoing clinical data analysis, program development, and implementation of processes to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the bariatric program
  • Facilitate and lead patient seminars and staff education
  • Take initiative and meet objectives with minimal supervision
  • Plan and manage the efficient and effective utilization of resources
  • Project a professional image in appearance and attitude
  • Participate in activities that market the Bariatric program
  • Review marketing materials for accuracy and develop marketing materials to support the Bariatric program
  • Manage and coordinate assigned staff in a consistent manner
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, orientation, development/training, evaluation, and discipline of assigned staff
  • Optimize patient flow and maximize provider productivity while ensuring quality patient care
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve workflow/process problems with regard to the bariatric program
  • Review patient files to ensure insurance plans criteria for bariatric surgery are met
  • Manage bariatric case files and submit documentation to insurance companies for authorization
  • Ensure office staff has current bariatric benefit policies for various insurance plans
  • Provide patient dietetic consulting as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field (Preferred)
  • Three years of current experience in the area of bariatrics (strongly preferred)
  • High level of interpersonal/communication skills to promote team approach
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • Registered Nurse or Registered Dietician (Preferred)

Work Schedule

5 Days - 8 Hours, Full Time
