About the Role

This is a full-time position in which the successful applicant will regularly engage with a diverse array of public and private undergraduate institutions and the K-12 sector to ensure smooth program operations, timely communication, and successful delivery of program objectives. A successful Program Manager will be able to communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, tolerate frequent interruption, focus on detailed work, and work within strict deadlines. Some travel is required within South Carolina and related to participation in national EPSCoR Meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Principal Investigator in planning and implementing SC-CAPS activities, including meetings, workshops, conferences, and other convenings; coordinate event logistics, strategic timelines, and collaboration across project leadership.
  • Facilitate communication among the SC-CAP Principal Investigator, project leadership team, and participating South Carolina colleges and universities, while supporting SC-CAPS-wide outreach through listservs, newsletters, announcements, social media, and related communications (including occasional travel to partner institutions).
  • Manage SC-CAPS funding program operations, including solicitation development, proposal processing, and peer review activities for the Faculty Research Development Academy, Summer Undergraduate Research Experiences, and the Equipment Development Program.
  • Coordinate faculty training programs, including managing the application, review, and selection processes.
  • Plan and coordinate major SC-CAPS events, including the annual external advisory board meetings, SC-CAPS meetings, and assist with the planning and execution of the annual SC EPSCoR State conference.
  • Maintain and manage databases of participants and institutions to track engagement, participation, and program outcomes.
  • Coordinate annual reporting requirements, including collecting and compiling data from participating individuals and institutions and entering required information into NSF reporting systems.

Requirements

  • B.S./B.A. (minimum) with 5+ years of experience in program coordination.
  • Experience with federal grant programs and/or private foundations.
  • Proficiency working with a diverse range of stakeholders (K-12, college/university) is desired.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential.
