Program Manager

About the role

As a Program Manager at Parker Aerospace, you will manage and be accountable for the contract performance of divisional programs or a set of related projects to achieve programmatic business objectives throughout the program lifecycle. You will serve as the customer advocate, ensuring effective program management processes, schedule, cost, resources, risk, project change management, and commitments to customers are met. This role involves managing programs of moderate scope and complexity, typically for a defined set of customers, market segment(s), or product line(s).

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer requirements are met and align with Parker’s best interests by creating the program charter, baseline plan, and other program management components.
• Evaluate resource requirements and perform risk analyses to ensure correct cost basis and/or pricing, as described by AGS PRM-01 (Program Management Policy).
• Oversee integrated program schedules, data integration, tracking of financial and quality performance, and implementation of corrective actions across all areas of program responsibility.
• Address critical issues on complex programs and lead the team to develop action plans to improve performance.
• Lead the development of program plans for mature and new product development programs, directing all phases throughout the program lifecycle.
• Organize and lead programs by defining required expertise, providing feedback on team contributions, and managing plans, budgets, staffing, training, and development of direct staff.
• Oversee and approve task planning, including resource requirements and effort estimates, and communicate priorities and changing program requirements to functional areas.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer requests, program activities, status updates, and problem resolution, including negotiation of contract changes related to scope management.
• Act as the key presenter and facilitator at major program reviews, ensuring meeting actions are documented and communicated.
• Consult with management on specific programs or overall program management, establish goals and objectives, and mentor project teams on program management principles.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, publications, and professional associations, and share expertise with others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field. PMP certification required, typically within 6 months of assignment; advanced degree (MS/MBA) and additional certifications (e.g., PgMP, PMI-RMP) preferred.
• Eight or more years of related work experience, including two or more years leading multiple projects of varying complexity and scope, and direct leadership of teams. Aerospace experience highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge and proficiency with program management processes, methodology, and architecture.
• Ability to lead cross-functional matrixed teams across related projects and demonstrate strong business skills.
• Thorough knowledge of industry practices and the marketplace for fielded products or services.
• In-depth knowledge of aerospace commercial or military contracting and procurement requirements, financial and labor cost systems, and production processes.
• Proficiency in business applications software, project management, and financial applications.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex policies, contractual language, and financial reports.
• Strong negotiation skills with customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
• Ability to develop effective written communications and present information to various levels of management, customers, and suppliers.
