Program Manager

About the role

The purpose of this position is to assist, implement, and manage DEED's efforts to support the Office of Childcare and Community Services. This will include Minnesota’s Child Care economic development initiatives and Minnesota’s Energy Transition office.

Responsibilities

• Leading the coordination of the childcare grant application review and administration processes, including facilitating meetings and communications with managers and other appropriate staff
• Designing, developing, and maintaining program promotional and informational materials and coordinate effective communication of services, program requirements, and policies and procedures to interested parties
• Performing other duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Manager, Directors, and Commissioner’s office requests as those relate to grant making and programming

Requirements

• Travel a few times per month for meetings and grant visits
• This position will be based out of the St. Paul office and may be eligible for some telework

Qualifications

• Three (3) years* of experience with contracts and/or grant programs
• A Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, political science, economics, law, or other closely related field as determined by the agency may substitute for one (1) year of experience

Skills

• Knowledge of accounting practices and principles sufficient to review financial reports, recognize errors and inconsistencies, and effect solutions
• Skill in customer service to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to customers
• Skill in organization to manage, track, and report expenses, financial transactions, and invoices using Microsoft Office Suite
• Skill in organization sufficient to manage workload and competing priorities while still meeting strict deadlines
