Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services serves over 500,000 residents and intakes over 6,000 pets a year in one of Louisiana’s most populous parishes, located in the greater New Orleans area. About the Role

The Program Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater New Orleans, LA area, responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing JPAWS programs from initiation through completion. The role includes coordinating program activities, managing timelines, monitoring performance metrics, and preparing reports for leadership and stakeholders. The Program Manager collaborates with internal departments, external partners, and community members to ensure programs align with strategic priorities and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and oversee JPAWS programs from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate program activities and manage timelines.
• Monitor performance metrics and prepare reports for leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and community members to align programs with strategic priorities and regulatory requirements.
• Identify risks, recommend process improvements, and ensure effective communication across all program participants.

Qualifications

• Program and project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring progress for multiple initiatives.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities to track performance data and support decision-making.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams, leadership, and community stakeholders.
• Experience in public sector, municipal government, or community-based programs is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency with standard office software and animal inventory systems; ability to learn parish-specific systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced animal welfare environment.
